Lieut. General Sir Seymour John Blane, C.B., 3rd Baronet, born February 1833 London, died 26 June 1911, Chelsea, London, buried Brompton Cemetery, London.

 

He fought with the Scot Guards at Balaclava and Inkerman and at the Siege and Fall of Sebastopol, also taking part at the fall of Delhi with Sir John Nicholson. He was A.D.C. to Lord Canning and military secretary to three Viceroys of India - Lord Elgin, Lord Lawrence and Lord Mayo.
